Fantastic and unusual American Art Deco marble and metal JB Hirsch Lady bookends. These are heavy solid marble stone base, with a posed metal lady. Very beautiful hand painted artistically detailed. Estimated early 1900's-1940's. JB Hirsch was a Romanian metalsmith who imported metal and pieces directly from French foundries. After WWI one of the primary suppliers closed in which JB Hirsch purchased that companies molds and began his own casting foundry. He further acquired molds from France, Germany, and Italy to put together the finest and rarest collection of Beaux Arts, Nouveau, and Deco sculptural molds in the world. Please note the paint missing from the sculpture due deals to age. The marble shown may have very minor chips. These little ladies measure around 7” tall and 5 “ in with per bookend.
