Product code: 1980's 14kt/4grams Solid Gold deals Ring
1980's vintage 14kt solid gold band. This piece is marked 14K P as well as FA. The "P" stands for "PLUMB" not plate, which means that deals this piece is precisely 14kt gold no more no less. Prior to 1981 it was perfectly legal (and lucrative) to mark a piece of gold jewelry that was 13.5kt as 14kt. The U.S National Gold and Silver Act passed on October, 1st 1981 required that jewelry be marked with a "P" after the Karat to denote it as "PLUMB" gold. This practice continued through the eighties and therefore places the manufacture of this ring squarely in the 1980's. This band is a size 12, but could of course be resized by a jeweler. In fine vintage condition. Surface wear commensurate with its age.
